These blue beans have recently been renamed to San Bernardo Blue Beans after the Italian city of San Bernardo which is the town these were found growing in by an American who brought them back to the USA and named them quite literally after his grandmother. These were new to the garden in 2023 and wowed everyone, both for their stunning colour and for their productivity, out-yielding my other pole beans 5 times over. They were also the longest vines at around 12 ft. They flower and ripen late and for that reason I'd count on these as a fresh shelling bean in in our short growing season, a true end-of-season delicacy. They also cook up beautifully.
