Le Groumellec endows his works on paper with the enigmatic quality of the standing stones, and once internalised are never forgotten. Loic Le Groumellec was born in Brittany in 1957 and currently lives and works between, Paris and New York. He has had over 30 solo shows since 1983 in France, Spain, Germany, Canada, USA and three shows in Australia.

Loïc Le Groumellec was born 1957 in Vannes, (Brittany) and he graduated in 1980 from the École de Beaux-Arts in Rennes. Three years later, in 1983, Galerie Yvon Lambert in Paris showed the first solo exhibition of his work. Loïc Le Groumellec's works are included in prestigious private collections, as well as the CAPC (Centre of Contemporary Visual Arts) collection of the Musée d'art.

During his studies at the École des Beaux-Arts in Rennes, Loïc Le Groumellec discovered a set of lithographs depicting megaliths - a structure he was well acquainted with - in the institutional archives. Born in Vannes, he grew up in the Gulf of Morbihan, a place particularly rich in mystical remains of the Neolithic period.
