It's sacrilege! On my first visit to London all by myself in 2003, my very first order of business was High Tea at the Savoy. It was a 5-star PLUS experience.

Surviving menus show that today's sandwiches, followed by patisserie were then established parts of Afternoon Tea; other offerings included toast, English muffins, ice cream, fruit salad, and boxes of chocolates. Afternoon Tea at The Savoy was an experience. The ambience, service and live pianist combined to create a wonderful atmosphere. The sandwiches and scones were delicious. Some of the other sweets were a little dry or unusual flavour, but that was small compared to the overall experience. Order the sparkling rosé for an extra surprise!
